The 24th International Stellarator/Heliotron Workshop (ISHW) will be held in Hiroshima for five days from Monday, September 9 to Friday, September 13, 2024.
This international conference has been held every other year since 1977 to discuss the physics and engineering of magnetic field confinement fusion using stellarator-heliotron field coordination. This will be the fifth time in seven years that the conference will be held in Japan.
Hiroshima was selected as the host city because of its significance of transmitting the peaceful use of nuclear energy from Hiroshima.
About 200 world-leading researchers from 14 countries are expected to participate during the conference.
