Improved Connectivity and New Luxury Hotel Elevate Hiroshima's MICE Potential
Hiroshima Station: Now More Convenient, Comfortable, and Inspiring Than Ever
Hiroshima Station is more than just a stop for the Shinkansen (Japan’s high-speed bullet train) and JR trains — it serves as the city’s central transportation hub, offering access to JR lines, the Shinkansen, Hiroden streetcars, and buses. It plays a key role as a gateway for both residents and visitors traveling throughout the region.
Until recently, the Hiroden streetcar stop was located several minutes’ walk from the JR and Shinkansen platforms, making transfers slightly inconvenient. However, with recent upgrades, the streetcar lines now extend directly to the vicinity of the JR and Shinkansen platforms, significantly improving connectivity. This improvement will reduce travel time by approximately five minutes to key destinations such as the Hiroshima International Conference Center and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Atomic Bomb Dome.
In addition, the newly opened station complex, minamoa, which launched in March 2025, features a wide variety of local cuisine and exclusive Hiroshima-themed souvenirs. It offers travelers a wonderful opportunity to experience the local culture and flavors as soon as they arrive.
With these enhancements, Hiroshima Station provides a smoother, more comfortable, and more enjoyable travel experience — the ideal starting point for your journey through Hiroshima.
