Shukkei-en Garden

The Shukkei-en Garden located in the heart of Hiroshima was constructed during the Edo period by Asano Nagaakira, the feudal lord of Hiroshima Castle. The garden was initially created as a relaxing villa for the Asano family.
The work was undertaken by his chief retainer and famous tea master Soko Ueda.

Program Hosting a tea ceremony
Description / Acceptance Time / Group Size / Time Required Tea ceremony held in the garden in the ‘Seifukan’ (built in the sukiya-zukuri style).
■ Time: Between 9am and 5pm.
■ Capacity: 60 people.
■ Time required: Approximately 60 minutes.
Price / Remarks Costs: Garden entrance fee: 260 yen. Seifukan 6,000 yen for one hour. Other tea ceremony costs.
