Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum, Shukkeien Garden

The museum is located in the center of Hiroshima city and is adjacent to Shukkeien Garden, a designated National Scenic spot. From the lobby and rest area, you can enjoy Shukkeien Garden.
The garden was originally built for Asano Nagaakira who was the feudal lord of Hiroshima.
The art museum contains over 5,000 artifacts and important cultural property such as Imariiroekamimonrinkabachi and Ituskushimazubyobu. And artwork by unique Hiroshima artists such as Aimitsu, Entsuba Shouzo, and Hirayama Ikuo are also preserved in the museum.

Take the street car and get off at the “Shukkeien-mae” station.
Approximately 10 min. drive from the International Conference Center Hiroshima. ※Distance of 1.7km

Art Museum: Toll parking for 45 cars less than 1.7m high.
Shukkeien Garden: Toll parking for 67 cars and 3 buses.

Program Art Museum Lobby: Through the large glass window, you can see the vast scenery of Shukkeien Garden. Events such as live performances can be held. (Eating and Drinking are not allowed in the art museum lobby. Future consideration is being taken to allow eating and drinking on the grass space between the art museum and Shukkeien Garden.)
Zona Italia: An Italian restaurant in the art museum which can accommodate a party. Enjoy the beautiful view of Shukkeien Garden and flowers of every changing season.
Art Museum Lecture Hall: This hall has 202 seats and is available for lectures and seminars.
Traditional Japanese instrument performances: Enjoy the scenery of Shukkeien Garden while listening to traditional Japanese instruments such as Koto (Japanese harp) and Ocarina.
Shukkeien Garden: The garden's name means contracted scenic beauty.This scenic spot is famous for its beautiful colored Japanese garden which you can enjoy from season to season.
Tea ceremony: Tea ceremony is available inside Shukkeien Garden at the tea cottage Seifukan.
Collected artifacts: Preserved in the museum are important cultural Property, such as the Imariiroekakimonrinkabachi and Ituskushimazubyobu, and more than 5,000 artifacts.
Illumination: Shukkeien Garden gets illuminated in Spring and Autumn which creates a dream-like atmosphere.
